Pakistani Artists Banned in India
Earlier on Thursday, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) announced banned on Pakistani artists from working in India anymore.
This move followed by pressure on Pakistani artists to leave India within 48 hours.
It should be noted that Pakistani actors have increasingly been appearing in big budget Bollywood movies in last few years.
Cinema Owners Review
“We will suspend the exhibition of Indian films till normalcy.
No Indian movies will play in cinemas from Friday onward for sure”, said Nadeem Mandviwalla, owner of Madviwalla entertainment and Atrium Cinemas in state.
To express the solidarity with the armed forces of Pakistan. The management of Nueplex cinemas has decided to stop the screening of Indian films with immediate effect.
“We will keep our patrons informed of further developments in this matter” – Nueplex Cinemas.
Super cinemas owner Khurram Gultasab echoed Nadeem Mandivwalla sentiments, saying he has already stopped screening any Indian film at his facilities.
“We didn’t wait for an official declaration by any exhibitor.
From Friday onward no Bollywood film will be screened at super cinemas for at least two weeks to show solidarity with our actors and military”.
In the end, I would like to appreciate the efforts to ban on Indian movies. Every exhibitor should also play his role so the industry remains powerful and unite.
In addition, a ban will not be that effective when it is limited to the cinemas. We must black out all kind of Indian content, vanished it from TV’s and DVD’s shops also that would be much cherished.
